Join Brooke Carnwath from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. the third Friday of every month for a restorative Yin Yoga practice. All classes will begin and end with meditation; students are encouraged to use props to support a comfortable, quiet body. All levels are welcome and encouraged.
Yin Yoga explores the connection between breath, body and tension—and the capacity for ease through sustained posture. All postures are seated and held for 3 to 5 minutes to access and release muscles, then connective tissue. With practice, the body learns to drop into stillness; openings at this deep level sustain strong, embodied movement and a capacity for attending to one’s internal state with compassionate, spacious awareness.
Brooke is a certified yoga teacher, Open Focus coach and Reiki Master who has been practicing for more than 20 years. A writing instructor at Montana State University, she values the capacity of language to deepen asana and facilitate healing.
