The Power of Alignment
A yoga + breathwork class with Georgia Reath + Eliza Kane
As we align and strengthen our bodies, we become more receptive to the healing and vitality found within our breath. From this place we naturally find a greater alignment with life and a stronger attunement to all the incredible experiences life has to offer.
Part 4, Thursday 10/14 4p CT / 5p ET: Core to Floor
with Pelvic Floor Therapist Dr. Laura Meihofer and Movement Therapist & Owner of Blue Light Yoga Georgia Reath
Two of women’s most essential muscle groups are their core and pelvic floor—strengthening them is about so much more than a flat stomach and good posture. Together they play a critical role in basic bodily functions, anatomical integrity, and even sexual pleasure. In this session, we’ll learn about their cooperative jobs and how they can weaken with age, life events (like childbirth), or even by being over-worked. Then, for part of the session, we’ll engage in a yoga-inspired movement practice that integrates core and pelvic floor conditioning into a full body workout (no Kegels—we promise!). Wear comfortable clothing and plan to participate from your yoga mat.
Part 3, Thursday 10/7 4p CT / 5p ET: The Pleasure Principle
with Empowerment and Sex Coach Lacey Haynes and Sex and Wellness Educator Haylin Belay
Between your legs is an untapped world of power and pleasure. You’ve probably grown up with a sense of shame and discomfort surrounding your ‘down there’, so getting well-acquainted with your vulva and clitoris can be a profound vehicle for personal and social change, understanding your turn on and helping you have a healthy sex life—solo or partnered. Without further ado, let's grab our VieVision mirrors and talk about why it's so important to look at our vulvas as we connect to the power and grace of the space between our legs.
Part 2, Thursday 9/30 4p CT / 5p ET: A Deeper Look at Pregnancy, Child Birth & Postpartum
with Doula Veronica Rottman and Pelvic Floor Therapist Kim Vopni
This session covers everything your mama and that birthing class didn’t tell—or show!—you. (Don’t worry, it’s not a horror show, but it’s definitely a bit astounding.) We’ll go deep into what happens anatomically and physiologically in the 9 months leading-up to childbirth and the 9-12 months afterwards. What are some ways to prepare your body for childbirth and how can you help it recover? We’ll talk about natural and aided fertility methods, cesarean and vaginal delivery, and some common pre/postpartum conditions.
