into the blue- end-of-summer-blues?...nah!
Hello!
What a wonderful whirlwind it’s been since the last Blue Light Yoga newsletter. It was back to school week in our house and although a part of me is working hard to stave off those familiar end-of-summer blues, another part is embracing these chilly mornings, ripe tomatoes, and golden light draping over the trees.
Since I last reached out to you, I learned how to drive stick, my daughter learned how to ride a 2-wheeler and my son can now sail, row and motor a boat on his own; I read a poem at my cousin’s funeral; I've been writing more; I planted and am harvesting a HUGE vegetable garden; I celebrated 12 years of marriage and 23 years of being with my husband; I baked cakes for my son’s 7th birthday and daughter’s 4th birthday; I stood over my nephew as he was baptized; I endured more bad news about cancer infesting loved ones and watched, from afar, these brave friends, cousins and fellow parents rise above and beyond what I think is humanly possible as they begin or continue their journeys through this; I have woken up in the middle of the night, breathless from anxiety; I have woken up at at sunrise, breathless from the beauty and love that surrounds me; I have relished time outdoors on the coasts of Massachusetts and Maine and surrounded myself with family and friends.
Yes, it’s been a full summer. We have landed home and I am ready for fall and to return to Blue Light. I’m happy to report that I have found a lovely stuido in Ipswich to house Blue Light for the time being. And I’m excited to share some new offerings: the Foundations Series, the Group Series and counseling sessions. Please read below for more details. I look forward to seeing all of you, and hearing about your summers.
Warmly,
Georgia

Blue Light Counseling:
Some of you may or may not know that in addition to teaching yoga, I am a Columbia University trained psychological counselor with an EdM and MA in the discipline. I have decided to offer additional counseling sessions on a weekly basis thus I am currently free to take on new clients.
My approach to healing is to look at the whole person (mind, body, and spirit) in his or her environment. In the initial sessions, through talk and yoga, we will establish trust and familiarity with one another, and identify patterns and/or relationships that are inhibiting growth or creating obstacles. We will then establish a plan that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, yoga, diet, and meditation to reestablish flow, clarity and ease in the areas you are feeling stuck or grappling with. These areas may include, but are not limited to:
relational stresses in your marriage, family, job;
grief;
illness:
substance abuse;
parenting; and
career.
